At one time, wolves were pervasive across the North American region but they became close to being extinct because of being hunted, almost killed off and completely destroyed. The conflict between humans and wolves began when the wolves would attack and eat their livestock because the wolves’ food sources were scarce. At one time in Yellowstone National park the United States soldiers were ordered to exterminate the grey wolf and this is when the grey wolf population was on the verge of extinction. (Wolf Adventures, 1996, video) Over 2 million wolves have been killed since inhabiting the North American territory. But no human deaths by wolves have ever been reported. Humans have been more dangerous to wolves then wolves are to them. (Wolf Adventures, 1996, video)
